Hangout Music Festival was founded in November 2009 by A.J. Niland, Shaul Zislin, and Lilly Zislin, who is the creative director of the festival.[eight] [nine] The Zislins are the proprietors of "The Hangout", the festival'due south namesake restaurant.[10] The festival received approving from the Gulf Shores metropolis quango in December 2009, also as a permit for acts to perform an hr later than would normally be allowed under city noise laws.[11]
